Anyone and Everyone is Eligible To Apply For a First Step Grant!
The First Step Vocational Grant Program is intended to help people who are stuck working one or more minimum wage jobs acquire the skills necessary to be considered a skilled worker, resulting in higher wages.
In less than a year, a grant recipient could obtain the following certifications and skills:
A certificate showing the person has become proficient in the use of office computer systems.
A certificate indicating the person can be hired as a chair side dental assistant.
A driver’s license allowing the person to drive a commercial vehicle.
A diploma showing graduation from a phlebotomy program.
A certificate from a one-month course to become a CNA.
There are no age requirements or limits for application, the program is open to young and old alike. Applicants must show a financial need and have no other source of funding available to them. This grant program is open to most short courses of study as long as the skills and or certificates earned will result in a better paying job!
